I fast mainly to give me a focus, and because Jesus said we can only overcome certain demonic forces by prayer and fasting. What he was implying is that the time to fast is before you encounter the enemy in the life of someone else, so you will have the tools needed to overcome that enemy. In the case of yourself I would look to that same passage as inspiration that you may overcome by prayer and fasting. Rest in Him, and take each victory and savor it. When you fall, thaink of Peter, how he denied the Lord 3 times less than 24 hours after Jesus told him he would. That same Peter rasied a woman (Dorcas/Tabitha) from the dead later in his life. Have I fallen? Yes I have but when I focus on God and offer personal sacrifice to be "shaken and stirred" by Him my forward momentum toward the goal increases my ferver to offer my entire self to Him. Headaches, restlessness, dizzyness, impatience, and finding myself in dazes sometimes are my cleansing of my carnal self and to acccept my spiritual self with gladness. Please pray for me as I will you. I am also going to Nashville. Be blessed!
