It is the goal of FIREKEEP to inspire Christians to arise in the beauty of holiness and the splendor of His might. Let us not be found wanting in the day of his return, but let us be prepared with a well trimmed lamp and a heart full of His oil that we may join the bridegroom in the wedding feast.

From Chapter 9 of Tertullian’s Apologeticum

To us murder is once for all forbidden ; so even the child in the womb, while yet the mother’s blood is still being drawn on to form the human being, it is not lawful for us to destroy. To forbid birth is only quicker murder. It makes no difference whether one take away the life once born or destroy it as it comes to birth. He is a man, who is to be a man; the fruit is always present in the seed.

Six years ago tonight, you would have found my wife and I spending Christmas eve under the watchful eye of hospital staff.

You see, at that time Angela was pregnant with our first child. She had had a textbook perfect pregnancy up until Dec 23, when she noticed baby wasn’t moving much. So we ended up spending Christmas eve in the hospital then. That was 2002.

Here we are in 2008, and we find ourselves again spending Christmas eve in the hospital. Ethan, our firstborn was running a scary temperature of 105.5 so we rushed him to the ER. I am writing this from his room in the ER as we await the results of his labs.

But now that his fever is under control, my thoughts turn to my brothers and sisters who live in less developed countries. I think how terrifying it must be to have a child suffering in the same way mine was today, but without the wonders of acetominophen or ibuprophen or a thermometer, thermostat, ice, running water….

I wonder how much
The majority of “Christians” truly care. Are we not supposed to give even the clothes we are wearing to one who asks?

It is my hope that a revolution occurs in the body of Christ; that we become no longer content to go to church, but become set instead on being the bride of the Servant King–equally yoked in his heart of service to humanity.

I encourage you to give time or money to a ministry that God Himself would define as undefiled religion. For me personally, I find such a ministry in http://irismin.org

BEDO. Be the body. Do his will.

Merry Christmas

There are comparisons being drawn between Todd Bentley and the “manifestions” in the FL Outpouring relative to the Kundalini awakening found in eastern meditation, yoga etc.

see the article here: deceptionbytes.com

Here are some of my thoughts, but mainly just scripture on the topic.

Two Questions: Is Satan Stronger than God? Who are we praying to, Todd, or Our Father in Heaven? The answers to those questions will strike fear in your heart, or bring peace in light of God’s word. Most of these posts seem to imply that Satan can intercept the power of God and replace it with a counterfeit. Remember Moses, Aaron, and the Pharaoh’s Magii. Both could do the same miracle, but in the end, the Kingdom of God eats the Kingdom of Darkness. Be not afraid of the Devil to the extent that you lose your faith in God.

If we are praying to God, then what reason do we have to fear man, or devil?

Luke 11:5-54
9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Can Satan intercept a prayer, and replace God’s answer with a counterfeit?

Luke 11:47
47Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Luke 11:52-54
52Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
53And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
54Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

I see this all as a heart issue. Who are we praying to? Are we seeking truth? Are we acting out of love, or out of fear?
Todd Bentley will answer to God, just like I will, just like you will. But if we go to a service and regardless of who is speaking we are compelled to seek God’s face, repent, turn from our sin, and run deeper into the arms of our loving Father then nothing can separate us from the love of God.

I invite the input of anyone who reads this. I seek truth.
Keep the Flame!

Here is a perspective from a Christian missionary on the ground in China. The comments sum up why he asks would-be protestors not to protest.
His Name is Ken Harley.

Friends,

Please pray urgently that Christians and others will stop protesting against China now and continuously through the Olympics!

Also…please pass this email on to all of your friends!

It is interesting how Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus have been protesting to one degree or another against China recently.

It is imperative that Christians do not protest but pray and give to friendship projects that will show Chinese government leaders and Christians in China that Christians around the world love China and pray for the development of China through International friendship and encouragement of Christians and others in China.

Please pass this prayer request to 100 of your friends by email or other means.

We need to pray that all of this dissension stops in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Please do not support a Free Tibet led by the Dalai Lama. Tibet before it was taken over by China in the 1950’s was ruled by the Dalai Lama and rich noble lords. These nobles kept people in poverty and ruled them by demonic darkness and lies. Enemies of that State were tortured by ancient means and Christianity was not a factor in Tibet at that time.

These protests are propaganda attempts at ruining the Olympics and Christians protesting and doing civil disobedience will potentially ruin the possibility for Christians around the world and in China to love and encourage one another, which would lead to a change in China as a whole.

Do not believe the lies that are circulating. Christians do not need to join these savage, disreputable protests.
